MelvisFan.com Updated!
Welcome
to the new and improved online home for the Official Melvis Fan Club. Longtime fans will notice a new, contemporary design, updated features, and content that’s easy to find. We hope that this revised website meets the needs of all the Melvis fans out there.
What happened to the old blog?
If you’re wondering , it is no longer in existence. We were receiving over 50 pieces of spam on a daily basis. Near the end the spam made it impossible to update the site. In an effort to upgrade to a more secure version of software, a majority of the old posts were lost. Rather than resuscitate the old version, we decided to press forward and make a new, bold website that puts the content right up front.
What’s different?
1. A clean, new design that borrows some elements from the old site and updates them.
2. Pages that are better organized and easily navigated so you can find what you want.
3. Comments are no longer available. It’s what ultimately led to the death of the old website.
4. More Melvis! Updates will happen more often with a new administrator interface.
We hope you enjoy the new version of MelvisFan.com!

MFC Celebrates Armed Forces Day with Wine, Muppets
To celebrate Melvis’s time of service in the military the Melvis Fan
Club chose Armed Forces Day to tour the beautiful Lynfred Winery in
Roselle, Illinois. It was a day of fun filled Activities put together
by the MFC Event Coordinator, Christie. Following a tour of the
quaint winery, which was founded in 1979 by Lynn and Fred Koehler, the
fan club went to the Event Coordinator’s home where they created
home-made pizzas and watched “the Muppets Wizard of Oz”. Later in the
evening they headed out to Hoffman Lanes to experience another
spectacular performance by the Melvis and to dance to yours truly’s
rendition of Dead or Alive – You Spin Me Round (Like a Record).
“I’m enjoying my role as Event Coordinator and I believe the first MFC
outing was fabulous” said Event Coordinator Christie of the days
activities. “I’m glad to see that Christie is taking her role as
Event Coordinator so seriously” said Barb before touring the ivy
covered winery. The MFC members in attendance would like to thank a
random passerby for taking the picture of them in front of the winery
sign and to thank Christie’s stove for being the perfect height to set
the camera on in the absence of a tripod.
Regretfully, the Melvis was unable to attend the winery tour because
he was unable to find the correct location. Had this been a tour of
the Budweiser or Miller brewery instead of a winery though, this
reporter is confident that the Melvis would have been able to sniff
out the location.
The Lynfred winery is located at:
15 S. Roselle Road
Roselle, IL 60172 USA
and can be reached by calling (630) 529-WINE or visit them on the web
at: http://www.lynfredwinery.com/

Melvis debuts REAL saxophone!
Melvis, the instrumentalist! Here he is jamming with James Jaz on a little Billy Joel. I’m sure it was James Jaz that turned in the slip, but Melvis can’t help but steal the show. Is it really his fault he’s always the center of attention?
You know it’s true talent when Mel can play the saxophone with a lighted cigarette between his fingers. What a man!

Melvis Fan Club Expands – Nashville
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our newest chapter added with the signing of the Nashville Charter! The lovely people of Nashville have been working tirelessly to attain this level of recognition. It was a seven step process that included community outreach, maintaining detailed alcohol consumption logs, and a karaoke challenge.
Upon successful completion of the process, the Nashville hopefuls sent delegates to the shrine of Melvisdom, the Fabulous Hoffman Lanes. It was in this inner sanctum that the delegates were able to experience the Melvis firsthand. The magical evening concluded with the signing of the Nashville Charter, which officially recognized this branch of Melvisfans.
And, to officially seal the charter, one more important step needed to be taken. Much like the nautical community christening a boat with champagne, the delegates were christened with a kiss from the legend himself.

Congratulations to the new members of the Nashville Chapter of the Official Melvis Fan Club. We wish you continued success in all your Melvis endeavors.

What Should Melvis Say?
In my quest to amass a vast library of Melvis sound drops, I’ve really hit a wall. I have Melvis saying many phrases, such as “Big balls, I got the big ones”, “I am the Lizard King”, and “You might as well hang up your jock and say goodbye cruel world”, but where do we go from there?
That’s where you, the loyal Melvis fan come into play.
Please leave a comment on this post with suggestions of what you would like to hear Melvis enunciate. I will do my best to fill any requests or dreams.
